Yes, CRA may allow you to pay your tax amount owing in instalments. To make payment arrangement, you have to call CRA at 1-888-863-8657

Q: I landed in Canada as a student but have no income. Should I file tax return ?

Yes, it is recommended that you should file your tax return even you do not have any income to report. It is required to keep receiving some benefits e.g. GST/HST and Climate Action Incentive, Child Benefits etc.

Q: I am on work-permit. Can I apply for Child Benefits ?

A temporary resident who has lived in Canada for the previous 18 months, and who has a valid permit in the 19th month other than one that states "does not confer status" or "does not confer temporary resident status" can apply for Child Benefits. There are some other conditions as well which need to be satisfied to be eligible for child benefits.

Q: I received a letter from CRA regarding GST/HST and Climate Action Benefits.

You may receive a letter from CRA regarding your GST/HST benefits and Climate Action Incentives and CRA may ask your world income to calculate your benefits amount in following situations: You filed income tax return first time after your arrival/landing in Canada. Your marital situation changed and you added your spouse in your tax return but your spouse is not in Canada yet. You can send RC151 form and a letter to CRA to provide your or your spouse's world income. Download RC151 form from here and send it to your nearest tax centre.
